Additional Information
I'm a board-certified emergency medicine physician (ABEM) with more than a decade of active clinical practice, which gives me broad, hands-on familiarity with the full range of acute illness and injury. As Vice President of 39 North Health Plans and a Utilization Management and Appeals Physician at a national health insurer, I regularly review other providers' care for medical necessity, appropriateness, and adherence to standards. That work has made me a disciplined, objective evaluator of medical records and clinical decision-making. I scored in the top 1–2% nationally on the USMLE and maintained high academic performance throughout my residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, which lets me absorb complex cases quickly and understand medicine across specialties. Before medicine, I worked as an aerospace engineer and software developer, so I'm highly tech-savvy and comfortable with electronic records, review platforms, and large volumes of data. Combined with my emergency medicine training, where sound decisions have to be made quickly, this lets me deliver efficient, decisive reviews with fast turnaround without sacrificing thoroughness. I write clear, well-supported, evidence-based opinions and bring the neutrality and rigor that independent medical examinations require. I hold active medical licenses in Texas, Colorado, Kansas, Wyoming, Oregon, and New York, and I qualify through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact for expedited licensure in additional states as needed.
